Where do I find the DocsAutomator plugin?

In ChatGPT Plugins. Open the DocsAutomator listing, click "Install plugin", then "Connect", and sign in to DocsAutomator.

Do I need a server URL or an API key?

No. The plugin connects to DocsAutomator for you. You sign in to DocsAutomator once, and ChatGPT uses that connection.

Does ChatGPT send anything without asking me?

No. Before a document goes out by email, DocsAutomator asks you to confirm the document and every recipient, and nothing is sent until you confirm. The first document of a new automation goes out in test mode: the real email reaches the real person, with a watermark, and it does not count toward your plan. Going live is your decision.

Which workspace does ChatGPT use?

The one you choose when you sign in. If your account belongs to more than one workspace, the sign-in screen shows a workspace picker. To switch, disconnect DocsAutomator in ChatGPT and connect it again.

Can it use my Airtable or Notion records?

Yes. On an automation with Airtable, Notion, Google Sheets, Google Forms, SmartSuite or ClickUp as its source, ChatGPT passes the record, and the record fills the document. Connect those accounts once in the DocsAutomator app under Settings, Integrations. The DocsAutomator tools cannot search your records, so ChatGPT gets the record from you.

Can ChatGPT change my Google Doc template?

No. ChatGPT uses your Google Doc as it is and never creates or edits a Google Doc. It can upload your Word or PDF file, pick a template from the gallery, or design a new Word template with AI and change it on request.

No. The connection is included in every DocsAutomator plan at no extra cost. A document from the chat counts toward your plan like any other document, and a signed or accepted document counts as one document. Test documents are free and do not count.

What you can do from the chat

Your AI app fills your template, sends it and tells you who has signed.

Create documents

Name the document and the values in your own words. ChatGPT reads the automation's placeholders and sends the values, and you get the PDF link back.

Signing and acceptance

Name who signs or accepts, with their email. ChatGPT shows you the recipients before it sends, tells you who has signed and sends reminders. Signing and acceptance are included in every paid plan.

E-invoices

When the automation creates e-invoices, a document from the chat is a ZUGFeRD or XRechnung e-invoice too. If the data cannot make a valid e-invoice, nothing is created and the message names each problem.

Set up automations

ChatGPT uses your own template first, then one from the template gallery, and designs a new Word template with AI only when none fits. It also sets up signing, email and where the PDF goes.
